CHANDIGARH, Nov 10 The Chandigarh Football Academy is sending its fourth batch of 16 players and two officials to Sportschule Egidius Braun Leipzig (Germany) for training-cum-competitions from November 13 to December 2.
Stading this here today, Chandigarh Sports Director-cum-Additional Deputy Commissioner Inderjit Singh Sandhu said that players in this match were in the age group of 10 to 11 years. Besides getting advance scientific training under the guidance of the world renowned coaches, the trainees of the Chandigarh Football Academy, which is run by the Chandigarh Administration, would play exhibition matches, according to Sandhu.
"The boys will be exposed to higher level of training in honning their skill and physical fitness. Since the weather will be cold there, the training will be indoor. The training will aim at comprehensive development of the trainees. Besides football, the young boys will also play recreational games. They will also go for sight seeing," said Sandhu during the photo session of the team at the Sector 17 Football Stadium here.
Arrangements have been made for show the CFA trainees a league match between Germany and England on November 19.
The team will be accompanied by Joint Sports Director Dr JPS Sidhu and former India captain Harjinder Singh.
Those going for training are: Harsharan Khabra, Rahul Atwal, MP Tehlil, Paramvir Singh, Jatinder Kumar, Arshdeep Singh, Hitesh Sharma, Rajat Bhalla, Gaurav, Gursimrat Singh Gill, Prabhjot Singh, Kamalpreet Singh, Daniel, Lalramz Auva, Malsawmdawng Liana and Tmoia.

It may be recalled that the Chandigarh Football Academy and Sportschule Egidius Braun Leipzig of Germany had signed an ageement in 2006 to provide training to the CFA players. Andre Kuhn, Director of Sportschule and .S.K .Sandhu, the then Secretary Sports, U.T., Chandigarh had signed an agreement on behalf of the Egidius Braun Sportschule, Leipzig and U.T. of Chandigarh, respectively.
