Chandigarh 11th January : The Management Committee of PGI Employees Union Benevolent Fund Scheme has paid cheques of Rs. 2,51,000 to 3 families of deceased members of PGI Employees Union Benevolent Fund Scheme.
The PGI Union had started the Benevolent Fund Scheme for the welfare of its employees on 1.4.1998. The Scheme was started with about 1000 members paying a monthly contribution of Rs. 15, which was raised to Rs. 25 in May, 2002 and then to Rs. 40 and since 2008 as Rs. 60. Presently, there are more than 1700 members contributing the monthly subscription of Rs. 100 from July, 2012.
Sh. Chetan P. S. Rao, Deputy Director Administration handed over a cheque of Rs. 1,00,000 to the families of Sh. Kesar Singh, Sr. Theatre Master and Sh. Joginder Singh, Sanitation Attendant and a sum of Rs. 51,000 to the family of Sh. Ashok Kumar, Sanitation Attendant
Sh. Vishawpal Singh, Member Secretary, BFS, Sh. Ravinder Saini, General Secretary and Sh. Jagjeevan Singh Thakur, Treasure of Union were also present
