22 August : On the eve of Janamashtmi the premises of KBDAV School went back to the era of Dawapar Yug, when the tiny tots stepped into the school attired in traditional Gopis and Krishnas. The beautifully decorated ‘Yagyashala’ with Matkas, Flutes, Dandiya Sticks & marigold flowers presented an exact replica of Mathura and Vrindavan. The little Gopis & Krishnas mesmerized the audience with their dance on the religious hymns.
An idol of ‘Bal Krishna’ in the rocking cradle touched the religious strings of the hearts of the audience. The spirit of the celebrations became alive with joyous vibrations with the breaking of a matka full of flowers by a little ‘Bal Gopal’. To add colour to the festive mood, the Principal, Staff and students dipped themselves in the religious ambience singing and dancing on the tunes of devotional songs.
Speaking on the occasion Principal Mrs. Madhu Bahl said that such celebrations in schools keep the students attached to their rich cultural heritage. The ceremonies concluded with the distribution of sweets, fruits and dry fruits among the staff and the students.
