5 Aug : Facility for Behaviour Therapy for Urinary incontinence has been started in PGIMER w.e.f Aug1, 2010.This has been funded as a project by the Department of Biotechnology, Government of India. Regular provision of behavior therapy has been initiated in a room (Mother Craft Clinic, adjacent to room no.2061) at Obstetrics/Gynecology OPD, New OPD Block, PGI, Chandigarh.
This project is based on President Award winning PhD work of Dr (Mrs) Santosh, Sister Grade-1. Urinary incontinence (UI) is largely a neglected problem despite the fact that it is easily treatable. A Senior Research Fellow (Dr Meenakshi,MPH) has been appointed in the project. She will be available for counseling the suffering women and training them on exercises (Monday to Friday, 9:30a.m-12 pm)
Dr Vanita jain (Professor, Gynecology department) is the Co-Investigator of the project. Dr Amarjeet Singh (Professor, Community Medicine) is the principal investigator of the project.
