The India Post, Chandigarh 28th September, 2008 :The Rotaract Club Chandigarh conducted a two weekend Salsa Workshop in order to raise funds for the Bihar Flood Relief Victims.
The workshop started on 20th September and concluded on 28th September. The event witnessed the presence of 300 youngsters, which broke all the previous records.
To make this event a huge success the Rotractors worked day in and day out. All the job was done by the members of the club right from designing of the posters, to publicity, marketing and hosting up the workshop. In this hour of need, one could see the amount of dedication put in by the Rotaractors. They lived upto thier moto ‘service above self’.
The planning for this workshop commenced since 5th September.Rock n Roll Event Management, Modeling and Dancing School offered full cooperation in providing 4 best trainers of the region. These have three dance schools in the tricity and one in Shimla. Trainers as well as students of this dancing school have worked for Bollywood movies.
Mr. Vikas, the proprietor of the school said- This two weekend workshop helped them in promoting the idea of ‘reuniting of soul’ as well as helping the community. It was an commendable effort put up by these youngsters at Rotoractors.
Rotarain A P Singh, Charanjeet Singh, GS Lakhmana and President of the Rotary Club Chandigarh Mr. SK Duggal appreciated the effort and hard work put up by the members.Rtr Mandeep Singh, President Rotary Club, Chandigarh was also obliged with the turn out of the members.He appreciated the effort of the Rtr. Tarun, Manpreet and Maneet who lend their heart and soul in the project.
The funds generated through this workshop shall be sent to the Rotary District in Bihar through the Rotary Club Chandigarh as a part of relief program.
