The India Post, CHANDIGARH- AUGUST 29, 2008:CHANDIGARH- AUGUST 29, 2008: The Center for Adult, Continuing Education & Extension organized a One day Workshop on “Time Management and Women” at Maloya Crèche, Madrasi Colony, Maloya (UT Chandigarh) around 30 girls and women participated in the Workshop and an other program on Adolescent Health at Govt. Sr Secondary School, Village Khuda Alisher UT Chandigarh. 100 students and teachers attended the training programme.
The main objective was to guide the adolescent at their tender age about their physical, mental and social problems they face and how they could able to solve themselves by taking active part in sports and physical exercise.
The main objective of the Workshop was to equip women and girls with the art of arranging, organizing and scheduling their day to day activities so that they can work
effectively and productively to raise their quality of life.
Dr (Mrs) Prabha Vig, Sr. Project Officer from the Centre laid stress on principles of Time Management as Developing Time Management Skills as journey; Goal to help yourself become aware of how to use your time effectively and efficiently and exercising in Time Management.
While speaking on the occasion, she said that it is only through prioritizing household work, delegating the responsibilities to others and developing alternative sources and scheduling reviews and updates of household work can save them from harassment and managing their time efficiently. She said it is only through awareness, mindset and proper planning that they can use their time efficiently..
Mrs Renu Gandhi Programme Co-ordinator having deep concern over the adolescent problems said that adolescent are those who accepts risks behaviour activities, undertakes new ventures and ample health and energy for work. It is therefore necessary to help and develop action oriented habits among adolescent, dedication for work, creative and confident in their Life Style and last but not least they should think positively and quickly get over failures through taking part in sports and physical exercise she added.
Dr Sunila Negi Medical Officer from Servant of People Society, Lajpat Rai Bhawan, Chandigarh discussed the physical growth of adolescents expressed that it is a natural process that should always be discussed with elders but not with the peer groups which are equally ignorant. She discussed that they should accept their bodily changes more happily and take care of personal hygiene and listen and communicate well with their parents and teachers for sex related issues.
Dr Sharma Principal of the School observed that students have their problems in relation to their physical, mental growth and HIV/AIDS which needs additional information and attention in their day to day life. He felt that this type of panel discuss would provide an insight of their growth and help to develop positive outlook in their Life Style.
