Chandigarh,6 Dec : We have witnessed the dastardly and a gruesome terrorist attack on the financial capital of our nation. Every Indian is outraged. General refrain is that the political leadership and the Govt. functionaries have let this nation down and that it is all partisan vote bank politics and the nation may go to hell.
What should we do in the circumstances? Do we raise our hands in despair and wait for the catastrophe to overtake us or we gird our loins and fight for the survival of this nation. Time has come for the civil society to act and force the national leadership to come to terms with the stark reality facing the nation today.
Let us get together and discuss the affairs of the nation. I am not inviting any top expert or any top leader for a talk. Chandigarh elite comprises of very well awakened and nationally conscious intelligentsia who are vitally concerned for the well being and integrity of our nation. We must take every one along in this endeavour. Let us create a peoples’ movement which will force major attitudinal and systemic changes in our national and state governments.
So we meet at the auditorium of Museum and Art Gallery, sector 10-Chandigarh at 10 A.M. on 14th December 2008. All of us will participate in the discussion. Those wanting to speak may kindly intimate me at the earliest. Kindly bring a written note. It should be brief and should not take more than three minutes.
Kindly make it convenient to attend. I have requested only a select few. We shall disperse before lunch but with a heavy tea in between.
With regards, [P.C.Dogra]
