S.S.Pandey , Chandigarh, Mar 5, 2009, Specttrum News : Former Union Minister for Civil Aviation and BSP candidate from Chandigarh Parlimentary Seat, Mr Harmohan Dhawan has written a letter to the Election Commissioner of India, asking him to keep suspended a senior police officer, Mr S S Virk, IPS till the poll process is completed. Mr Virk is found guilty of favouring Congress and trying to damage the reputation and powers of Bahujan Samaj Party.
Mr Dhawan, in his strongly worded letter, said that “in Sepember, 2007, Mr Virk was arrested by the State Vigilance Bureau on heavy corruption charges.” From his possession, a handwritten political note was recovered. Apart from other actionable points to favour Congress in the Lok Sabha 2009 polls, Mr Virk has noted down some actionable points, such as “to organize Dalit Chetna Rally in near future and bring one active group of BSP into Congress at that time, create a parallel BSP in Punjab and to create a separate BSP at national level to reduce its impact on Congress votes in UP as well as other areas.
Mr Dhawan said, “Immediate suspension of Virk is necessary to prevent him in indulging in his planned line of action and to ensure free and fair elections.”
