Chandigarh May 18, 2012. Two senior leaders of the BJP, former Union Minister Sh. Harmohan Dhawan and Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Ex-City MP & All India Incharge of the Legal Cell of the BJP, while accusing the Central Congress(I) government of adopting an attitude of “indifference” towards the problems of city, have alleged that the Central Govt. did not do any thing to solve any issue of Chandigarh during the last 8 years of its rule. They urged the Union Home Minister to visit Chandigarh, hold atleast one meeting of the Home Minister’s Advisory Committee on UT, meet the prominent residents of the city to know the plight of the people living in Chandigarh.
In a joint statement issued here today Sh. Dhawan and Sh. Jain said that thousands of people have made need based changes in their houses and instead of regularising them, the congress(I) government is threatening to resume and demolish them. Even in May, people are not able to get adequate water and electricity. The quota of Kerosene Oil has been drastically reduced. Red line has not been extended even by an inch. The furniture market has not been rehabilitated even after fire broke out in it 5 times. The Law & order has totally collapsed in the city. All sections whether employees, traders, labourers, students and women are up in arms against the present government because none of the promises made to them by the congess(I) has been fulfilled till date.
Mr. Dhawan & Mr. Jain said that inspite of numerous written complaints by foreign & Indian Citizen, of forgery, cheating and impersonation against a Central Minister and some other Congress(I) leaders, the police has not registered even an FIR into the matter, what to talk of taking any action against the accused.
Mr. Dhawan & Sh. Jain said that inspite of the fact that the local congress(I) MP is a minister in the centre for the last 8 years and that 8 to 10 ministers including the Prime Minister are connected with the Chandigarh in one way or the other, the common man is feeling let down by the highly arrogant behaviour of the government especially the local minister and are being compelled to come on the streets.
Mr. Dhawan & Mr. Jain warned the central government and Congress(I) leaders that the residents of Chandigarh will not tolerate this discriminatory attitude of the congress(I) government any more and if the government does not mend its ways, it should be ready to face a mass agitation.
Dear M/S Dhawan & Jain,
Better evolve the system of *Praja Tantar* in Chandigarh, because there is a vast difference between *Lok Tantar* & *Praja Tantar*.
The complete charter in this context can be discussed & deliberated if you so desire, to get solved the problems of the city at the behest of the people of the city itself—dr.amritgaur
