6 Sep :The Vishwa Mangal Gau Gram Yatra, Chandigarh unit is mobilizing the public about the aim of the organization to declare Cow as national animal and ban cow-slaughter. The organization is spreading awareness among the residents through its signature campaign which will be sent to the President of India.
The activists of the organization are contacting various religious, social and other organizations and distributing the literature about the importance of cow in our day-to-day life. It is worth mentioning here that the ‘Vishwa Mangal Gau Gram Yatra’ will reach Chandigarh on 9th October, 2009 and a public meeting will be held at Sri Ramleela ground, Sector 27, Chandigarh on this occasion.
“We are contacting the people and disclosing them the disadvantages of our dependence on ‘imported breed’ of cows and the advantages of ‘Indian Cow. Out activists in the whole city and surrounding areas are collecting signatures of the residents on the memorandum prepared for submission to the Hon’ble President of India. Our aim is to collect atleast 51000 signatures from the city in favour of declaring the cow as our national animal and banning cow slaughter”, said Dr. Vishal Bharti, Convener of Chandigarh unit of Vishwa Mangal Gau Gram Yatra.
