Chandigarh, Mar 21: Guinness World Records holder and author of 25 books, Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury inaugurated the Tricity’s “first Memory Lab in any school” at D C Montessory School, Manimajra here today.
Mr Biswaroop Roy Chowdhury, Chairman and Managing Director, Memory Lab Pvt Ltd said, “Memory Lab is the outcome of over 7 years research on 5000 years old methodology of unlocking mind power with ‘Mnemonics, Neurobics and Rajyoga’ by Dynamic Memory training. We plan to set up 1000 labs across India in a year."
While demonstrating the memory enhancing techniques at a press conference at Chandigarh Press Club, Ms Neerja, a memory lab student, demonstrated special skills of learning all the words in a dictionary. Few sets of Oxford Dictionaries were distributed amongst media persons form which they asked meaning of several words randomly and Neerja replied correctly. “Such type of skills can be easily learnt at a Memory Lab and our students regularly perform such skills
Mr Chowdhury is a production engineer from Punjab University, Chandigarh. With the same methodology, he unlocked his mind power to make an Guinness World Record of maximum 198 Push-ups in one minute despite the fact that he was born with a hole in his heart and doctors had predicted that he would never be able to use his body like a normal child.
Mrs Rekha Bagri, Centre Coordinator of Memory Lab said, "The purpose of Memory Lab is to make learning easy through mental sports. Today’s students are faced with exam phobia, stress and strain and are overburdened with studies leading to fatal consequences even suicide." The Memory Lab combines ancient wisdom with modern science. It teaches how to harness infinite potential of mind. At Memory Lab we believe that every student is a Genius and Scientist.
"The students who use the Memory Lab will neither require any home work, practice or any kind of tuitions in any subjects. The Memory Lab is relevant for age groups 5 to 85, where people can come once a week for 45 minutes to 1 hour and walk away with a healthier mind, body and memory," said Ms Rekha. D C Montessory School principal, Mr B B Gupta was also present on the occasion.
Memory Lab consists of 15 electronic, mechanical and manual equipments which improve the mind and memory power of the users. The memory vocab software developed by Memory Lab team, helps a person to convert every abstract words into 3 dimensional picture which can be seen and felt by the user hence making memorizing vocabulary fast and effective.
Another Memory Lab is already functional at Rajasthan Bhawan, sector 33, Chandigarh.
