.15 August :The 62nd Independence Day was celebrated with great enthusiasm in D.A.V. PUBLIC SCHOOL, Sec 8-C/39, Chandigarh. The students and the staff saluted the Tricolour in the happy hours of 62nd I-Day.
A cultural programme, including dance, group songs, a play depicting unity “Jharokha” was presented by students. There were impressive speeches about the sacrifices made by the freedom fighters. The celebrations caught momentum with the scintillating dance performance by the students to pay tribute to the various freedom fighters including Mangal Pandey, Chandershekhar Azad, Bhagat Singh, Rajguru, Gandhiji, etc. A patriotic song was sung by the students and patriotic poems marked the end of the celebrations.
Ms. Jaskiran Harika, the school Principal, presided over the function. She encouraged the students to shoulder their responsibilities, pay devotion to duty and service to the nation in the times today.
