Chandigarh, Mar 15, 2009 : Former Union Minister for Civil Aviation and BSP convenor Mr Harmohan Dhawan promised today to abolish the contractual system and to ensure distribution of SC/ST Certificates to all the eligible people. Addressing a meeting of Balimiki Samaj at his residence, Mr Dhawan said no party can form government in the centre without the support of BSP.
Over 1000 people from Balmiki Samaj gathered at Mr Dhawan’s residence and criticized Pawan Kumar Bansal for his anti-poor and anti-Dalits policies and indifference to their long pending demands, topmost of them: abolition of contractual system and issuance of ST/ST certificates. It was unanimously announced at the meeting that nobody would vote for Congress and they would put all efforts to make Dhawan a winner.
Prominent among the Balmiki Samaj speakers included: Laxman Kangra, Chandulal Bidla, Prem Chand Fauji, Kartar Chand, Satyawan, Amritlal, Shyamlal, Jile Singh, Kishan Chadha, Kaluram Sood, Jagatram, Sada Sawan Lahri and Tarsem Lal Sidhu.
Mr Dhawan also addressed a Sankalp Rally at Law Bhawan in Sector 37 and a public rally at sector 46 today. BSP celebrated its founder Kanshi Ram’s 75th birth anniversary as Sankalp Diwas today.
