Sh. Harmohan Dhawan Convener, Election Campaign Committee alongwith BJP State President Sh. Sanjay Tandon and former Member Parliament Sh. Satya Pal Jain addressed mediapersons at party headquarter ‘Kamlam’ Sector 33-A, Chandigarh.
Sh. Harmohan Dhawan said that BJP National Secretary and Incharge Municipal Corporation elections Sh. Shyam Jaju constituted a committee comprising of 20 members in which party president Sh. Sanjay Tandon, Satya Pal Jain and other senior leaders. He further said that the members of the committee will start campaigning in various wards and atleast 3 visits will be made to each ward prior to polling.
Sh. Dhawan said that Congress leader and M.P. Pawan Kumar Bansal is claiming that no one can defeat him. But the fact is that the votes against Congress were divided and as all the opposition votes have united, Congress will be thrown out of power from Chandigarh. BJP will win with thumping majority and will repeat the victoryin the next parliamentary elections also.
Party President Sh. Sanjay Tandon said that the election campaign in all the wards is in full swing and we are receiving good and positive response from the general public. The residents of city are suffering due to the mal-administration of Congress ruled Municipal Corporation. The problems like drinking water, sanitation and parking needs immediate solution but nothing has been done. Congress and its leaders are busy in scams and scandals and have no time to think for the development of city.
Sh. Tandon said that after taking over the reins of Municipal Corporation, Party councilors will look into the problem of sanitation so as to make Chandigarh, a city beautiful in real sense. The parking policy will be made keeping in view the traffic load of next 10 years. With the help of specialists it has come to our notice that two plants were required for treatment of garbage at Daddumajra but till date only one plant has been made functional. A multi-speciality Hospital should be started in Manimajra so as to control the heavy rush of local hospitals and provide the emergency facility to the residents of Manimajra. Besides this Manimajra should be divided in Chandigarh on the pattern of Chandigarh.
Sh. Satya Pal Jain, former Member Parliament and National Incharge Legal Cell appealed to all the residents to vote for Bharatiya Janata Party to defeat Congress as voting for any other candidate will indirectly benefit Congress party. He also demanded that anti-defection law should be implemented in Municipal Corporation. During the tenure of Congress regime, instead of raising the issues of development, Congressmen remained busy in raising the worthless issues.
