Chandigarh, March 14 : Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) has slammed Congress and particularly Ghulam Nabi Azad, the leader of opposition in Rajya Sabha for equating RSS with IS.
It has warned Congress that it may have to face country-wide protests if its leaders do not seek an unconditional apology for leveling unfounded and baseless allegations against RSS.
In a press release issued here, Tarun Chugh, the national secretary of the party today said that it was highly deplorable that the senior Congress leader chose to equate the nationalist Rashtriya Swayam Sewak Sangh with hard-core terrorist group Islamic State.
Slamming Congress for its bias against the nationalist and patriotic forces, Chugh said the latest outburst of Ghulam Nabi Azad has further exposed the mindset of Congress and the level of its frustration after incurring heavy political losses across the country.
Terming Congress approach towards RSS as the negative thought process of ‘perverted’ think-tanks, Chugh said that Congress chief Sonia Gandhi and vice-president Rahul Gandhi have lost track after the humiliating defeat of the party in last Lok Sabha elections. As such, the Congress has been speaking the language of separatists and lending open support to people with an anti-national mindset, he said.
Hailing RSS for its nationalistic approach and the services rendered by it for the welfare of the country and its people, the BJP leader said that Congress leaders like Rahul Gandhi, who rushes to lend support to people raising slogans of dividing the country has got so frustrated that he might at some point of time lend his shoulder to people who speak in favour of Hafiz Saeed.
