S.P.Pandey,Chandigarh March 14, 2009 :Chandigarh State BJP President Mrs Kamala Sharma and General Secretary Mr Sanjay Tandon today said Congress party is making false claims of development. The top office-bearers of Chandigarh State BJP in a statement here said that during the Congress party rule prices have gone up and people’s problems have compounded.
Congestion on roads has increased, patients in hospitals have to wait longer and there are longer queues FOR admissions in the schools. They asserted that no development project has been started in the city, in fact even ongoing development projects got stalled and the Congress UPA government has proved to be totally incapable and indifferent. They roundly criticised the government for not paying any attention to people’s welfare.
In their statement President and General Secretary of Chandigarh BJP recalled that when people of city had chosen BJP candidate to represent them in Lok Sabha a large number of development projects were undertaken here. These include approval for Rail-link between Chandigarh and Ambala and start of rail line laying; approval to Development of Chandigarh Railway station; start of Mumbai-Kalka train; approval of Chandigarh Medical College Project; approval for setting up of Chandigarh Doordarshan; approval for four-laning of Chandigarh-Ambala highway and approval as well as completion of 101 projects under MP Local Area Development Scheme at the cost of 99,99815 (out of a total of Rs 1,00,00,000 available for the purpose).
Mrs Kamala Sharma and Mr Sanjay Tandon drew attention to the infighting in the congress party and their running fight with the officers of administration. They said congress party has spent these five years in leg pulling and making lame excuse. Terming demolitions of houses and Jhuggies and opening of new liquor vends as the “two achievements” of the party they said if congress party is satisfied in viewing these as development they have nothing to say. Let the people of Chandigarh give their mandate on the basis of these achievements.
