Chandigarh,13Dec;The congress party’s claim of having winning edge over its opponents is clearly justified by the door to door survey of the all important wards. The voters opinion reveals the fact that for them it’s the overall development of the city that matters and the representatives those who can deliver. It is the delivery by congress candidates putting them in winning position.
To top it all 4 local BJP leaders joined congress.They are Sh. Gursharan Dass, Sh.Naresh Kumar Singla, Sh Raghuvir Garg and Sh Satya Narayan Garg. They were in BJP for the past 40 years and held important positions.
Actually, this is the magic of reaching out to each individual by candidates of congress in the ward area. The up-keep of the most planned city is a tough call when its open hand welcomes all Indians to make it their home. But, that is the beauty of living together. “Consistent efforts can save the heritage of Chandigarh.. As the deciding date is approaching, the hectic campaigning by all congress candidates can be seen all across Chandigarh.
Ward no 1 candidate Ms Raj Bala Malik continued today also along with her supporters demonstrating untiring zeal while campaigning in all important areas of the ward.” Being an advocate, I am aware of the law and I know how to get justice” she says. Her main concerns are making the warm garbage free, re-carpeting of the roads and maintenance of parking lots.
On 10th day of his door to door campaign Sh.Devinder Singh Babla congress candidae from Ward no 18 along with his supporters, friends and family campaigned in several parts of sector 27, 28 & 30. The residents welcomed him with garlands and sweets and the resident’s welfare association also pledged to support him whole heartedly in the coming elections. Residents of sector – 28- B (Press Colony) and Sector- 28-C invited Mr. Babla in their area and assured him of full support in the coming elections. They appreciated the development works done by Mr. Babla in the past 5 years. Mr.Babla said that many development works have been carried out in the sector and the pending would be taken care once he is elected. Babla also assured that full efforts shall be put in to bring Maintenance of govt. under Municipal Corporation if elected.
Ward no 8 candidate, Rajesh Sharma carried on his campaign while being supported by senior congress leaders of Chandigarh. “I am thankful to all congress leaders and Mrs Madhu Behl in particular, for sparing time from their busy schedule”
Ward no 10 candidate Jasbir Singh Bunty held many corner meeting in sector 41 & 42. “His commitment and the zeal to undertake social activities is fascinating” Mr Jai Pal, a voter commented.
Ward no 17 candidate, Mr Mukesh Bassi was seen today also, going door to door in sector 18. He addressed the meeting organized by the business community of the area.” I am a public man, I got to be with them” he commented while interacting in sector 19 market.
Ward no 16 candidate, H S Lucky, was seen addressing corner meeting in various parts of sector 20. He was welcomed by local housing welfare organizations. “My date starts at 8 am every day, and do not get tired till late night. It is all about doing things differently that satisfies you” he revealed.
Sector 15 & PGI are fully colored in election fervor. The candidate from this ward no 2 , Anu Chatrath is demonstrating great warmth and intensity while campaigning. “Why not, I have experienced that sense of achievement when I have able to deliver” she says.
Candidates are burning with ardor for the fight. The candidate from the ward no 5 Subhash Chawala was seen putting in all efforts in reaching out to the voters. “To work for downtrodden gives me immense pleasure’ he said while on Padyatra in Kumhaar Colony.
Ward no 20 candidate, Satish Kainth conducted door to door contact program at Sanjay Colony, with his huge contingent of supporters. He expressed his happiness over leaders from other parties joining congress. He said “I do not believe in criticizing anybody, because work speaks”.
Chitranjan Chanchal ward no 25 candidate is feeling a kind of religious zeal keeping in view the big support he is getting from the voters of Mariwala Town, Housing Board Comples and old Mani Majra. He continued with his campaign in Mohalla Govinpura and Shanti Nagar.His main agenda isto get basic amenities for his ward. He willalso be piching for institution of higher education in the area..
Ward no 22 candidate Jitender Bhatia toured sector 47 & 48. He conducted many corner meetings and visited religious places as well. His main agenda is commissioning of garbage disposal system in the area.
Ward no 13 candidate H C Kalyaan continues with bright spirit. “ I can just say I am the man of the masses” he says while conducting door to door campaign in sector 50 and 51. Local congress workers and officer bearers of various housing societies were with him.
Ward no 24 candidate Ms Kamlesh is up-beat as she is getting support from all communities. She is interested in creating opportunities for slum dwellers so that they are able gel well with the culture of Chandigarh”

For Darshan Kumar Garg the candidate from ward no 11 it was a pleasant surprise to have Madhu Banasal present while conducting a meeting with Palsaura residents. He assured residents that he will be able to contribute to the development of the area.
The forceful speech impressed the voters of ward no 12 when they were listening to their congress candidate Ms Sheela Devi in sector 61. “I am delighted “said Amar Aroa a senior citizen”.
Ward no 21 candidate Ms Indu Singla, visited central government / defense housing areas in sector 46. She was given overwhelming response by the residents.
Chander Mukhi ward no 15 candidate says ‘I am new to the ward but the kind of response I am getting is amazing’ . He was conducting door to door campaign in sector 35 and 44..
Ward no 6 candidate Satparkash Aggarwal with all his humility carried on with yet another day of personal contact. “You get to know people, they get to know you & that pays” he says.
Ward no 7 candidate Neeru Mathur is getting lucky as no 7as they say, day by day. The residents are openly supporting the young blood. She went ahead with her door to door campaign in Maloya village.
Poonam Sharma the candidate from ward no 4 says “We got to be answerable to the people who love you. I will not leave any stone unturned to develop my ward for the welfare of its residents”. She address no of corner meetings in sector 36.
Ward no 3 candidate Pradeep Chhabra was really happy at workers and leaders of BJP Congress and supporting him. He carried on with his door to door drive at sector 22 and interaction with the shopkeepers in sector 17.
