Chandigarh, 9th Oct 2011: S.K.Sehgal, Chief General Manager, State Bank of India (Chandigarh Circle) today presided over the concluding session of a 3 day conference organised by SSCMUN11. Sh Sehgal appreciated the role being played by the group in creating and developing the ability to locate, discuss and negotiate serious political and existential issues being faced by the world and in inculcating the habit of healthy debate amongst the high school students. Sh Sehgal advocated peaceful resolution of problems among the nations of the world today and development of harmonious relationship between different communities. Sh. Sehgal said that as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility, State Bank of India always encourages various organizations involved in the healthy development of the country’s youth. He wished the delegates and participants a very bright future.
With the participation of 124 delegates from 9 cities SSCMUN’11 is St. Stephens School’s first ever venture in hosting a Model United Nations (MUN) conference with an aim to bring to the fore, issues that endanger the peaceful existence of the world today. It aims at educating the young people and students about United Nations. About 60000 high schools and colleges take part annually in this programme.
The event oraganisers, among others, included Rajat Jain,sahej seli Siddharth Bhatia, Atul Bhardwaj Subhvansh, Nikhil Grover and Jashandeep Singh. Among the delegates awarded at the event were Javin Sant, Kudrat Datta Chaudhary, Parika Kamra, Deeksha Khanna, Karan Saini and Shiv Singh.
