BY SANJAY PAHWA, CHANDIGARH: Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today called upon the Pak Media to play a proactive role in further improving the bilateral relation between India and Pakistan through people to people communication.
Addressing a 40-member delegation from Lahore Press Club led by its president Mr. Sarmad Bashir here at Punjab Bhawan, the Chief Minister said that Indian Punjab and Pakistani Punjab shared affinity in language, culture and cuisine. Mr. Badal said, “It was the high time when both the countries should make concerted efforts to sent regular delegation of media, artistes and cultural troops to boost the socio–cultural ties amongst both the nations.” Mr. Badal also emphasized the need for stepping up the Indo-Pak trade across the border for insuring mutual economic stability between both the countries.
Mr. Badal asked the Ministries of External Affairs of both the countries to relax the viza norms especially for the journalists who could play a vital role in further giving a fillip to the confidence building exercise.
All the members of the Pakistani delegation expressed their gratitude to the Chief Minister.
Prominent amongst those who were present on the occasion included Media Advisor to the Chief Minister Mr. Harcharn Bains, President Chandigarh Press Club Mr. Naveen Grewal, besides many other senior Journalists and office bearers of Chandigarh Press Club.
