Mandeep Singh, 12 Nov : The Rotaract Club, Chandigarh organised a three day workshop from 12-14th Nov,2008 on the account of the Children’s day. The purpose of the workshop was to teach mannerism and traits of a good human being to the children from the Jivan Mukt Nishulk Vidalaya.Day one of this workshop saw a good participation of Rotaractors as well as Childrens. the childresn are the ones who are being taught by an NGO in sector 18 and belong to the poor section of society. through this event we aimed at giving them the basic manners and etiquettes teaching and imparting general knowledge about health and hygiene along with lot of fun activities and games. The event witnessed the presence of 32 children.
The rotaractors taught children the importance and different ways of greeting. Children were taught greeting in english as well as hindi.At first, every child was asked to introduce oneself to the rotaractors. Children showed great enthusiasm by innovating on there way of introducing themselves. Interestingly children were keen on telling there favorite stars and movies.
Mrs. Sharda, head of Jivan Mukt Vishwa Vidyalya, took the stance to teach children the essentials of human living and being.
Children along with rotaractors played musical chairs.
Soft drink and samosas were served as refreshments to children.
