By Jagpreet Sandhu ,Chandigarh , January 11 : To control the crime rate in Chandigarh, the Chandigarh Police department is running its special drive of Anti-Auto Theft and Anti-Snatching by conducting nakas( check- posts) at different places in the city. On Tuesday a total of 3771 vehicles were checked in which 87 vehicles were challaned and 7 vehicles were impounded.
Besides this, the PCR Inspectors also caught 35 persons roaming in different areas of Chandigarh during the night intervening on tuesday. All were handed over to concerned Police Stations for verification. A total of 551 Police personnel have been deployed from Police Stations. PCR & Cheeta Squad has also been set up for night patrolling on the night intervening in the city.
