CHANDIGARH, OCT 14 : The Chandigarh Directorate, with a rich harvest of 12 gold and six silver medals to emerge champions in the All India NCC Shooting Championship at Police Academy in Phillaur (Punjab) yesterday. Competitions were conducted in 16 events.
Uttar Pradesh Directorate finished runners-up with three gold, four sivler and four bronze medals. The West Bengal Directorate were placed third with one gold, two silver and four bronze medals.
A total of 400 NCC Cadets from 17 State Directorates from all over India participated in the competition. The Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh Directorate teams were trained by Col M S Chauhan, Group Commander, NCC Group HQ, Chandigarh a renowned international coach.
The prize distribution was held at Police Trg Academy. The prize were given away by Brig Rajendra Singh, SM, Deputy Director General NCC Directorate Punjab, Haryana, Himachal Pradesh and Chandigarh.
