Chandigarh, Nov 8: Hugh and Colleen Gantzer, the world-famous travel writers, who began their journey of travel writing in the backwaters of Kerala on their Vespa scooter, shared their “Wanderlust” in the session by the same name on the concluding day of Literati at the Lake Club.
In a session moderated by Preetinder Kaur Sidhu with another young travel writer Amrita Chatterjee on the panel.
When asked about the city, both Hugh and Colleen said that they were disappointed by the Chandigarh Tourism for underselling the city.
The city need to look beyond Le Corbusier, whereas what it needs to sell its beautiful gardens, the golf courses, the museum, and so many other attractions that the city has, Hugh remarked.
We had passed through the city earlier and had a short visit few years back but we had just seen the Rock Garden at that time and nothing else, but this time, we had taken time to learn more about it and we were surprised to see its beauty, they said.
Chandigarh is also more than mere an outcome of an old Chandi mandir, they added. “You are sitting right on the Indus Valley Civilization and with such great history, you have been undrselling it”.
