Barinder Saluja, Chandigarh, Aug. 20 : “Cartoon for Climate”, an exhibition on the cartoons made by the students of Arts college, Sector 10 Chandigarh, is being organised by Govt. College of Arts, Chandigarh in association with British Council, New Delhi. The exhibition was inaugurated by Sh. Sandeep Hans, Joint Secretary Technical Education, Chandigarh Administration, today around 11 am and Mr. Charley Walker, Director Programmes, British Council India & Sri Lanka was the guest of Honour.
The workshop cum competition on Cartoon making with a theme of Climate and Environment was organised in which more than 50 students participated in Cartoon making contest. Cartoons describing issues like Global Warming, Save Trees, Save Wild Life, Save Earth etc were among the most watched Cartoon Posters. Principal, Govt. College of Arts, Chandigarh, described this workshop cum competition on Cartoon for Climate concept as a unique idea used for the first time among the students enabling them to come out with their imagination to save the climate. He also said that this way we can plant a concept of saving the Earth in the minds of the young generation who can only help in forwarding this concept. Mr. Charley walker also appreciated the initiative taken by the students of Arts College, Chandigarh in the success of this workshop cum competition on “Cartoon for Climate” poster making.
The Day ended with the Lecture on Art & Sufism by Dr. Madhukar Arya, Chairman, Persian Study, Panjab University, at the college auditorium.
