Harpal Singh , Chandigarh 12 Mar : More than 5000 party activists participated in the protest against the involvement of Central Parliamentary Affairs Minister Sh. Pawan Kumar Bansal in Booth Allotment Scam and more than 1000 party activists from various parts of city courted arrest.
Bharatiya Janta Party National Secretary Dr. Kirit Somaiya, BJP President Sh. Sanjay Tandon, former Union Minister Harmohan Dhawan, former M.P. Sh. Satya Pal Jain, Ranjana Shahi, Satinder Singh, Arun Sood, Ramvir Bhatti, Desraj Gupta, Shakti Prakash Devshali, Gurpreet Dhillon, Shingara Singh, Vinod Aggarwal, Santosh Mishra, B.C. Puri, Gurcharan Dass Kala, Sarita Sharma, Raj Kumari Mishra, Anil Dubey, Rajesh Gupta, Dalip Sharma, Sanjeev Rana, Zora Singh, Subhash Talwar, O.P.Gupta, Ravinder Pathania, Ram Karan Gupta, Saleem Khan, Puneet Dhawan, were among other thousands of arrested activists.
Party activists Sahil, Sanjeev Verma and a young chap of 8 years Arjun Singh entered the house of Pawan Kumar Bansal with a demand of his resignation from Cabinet due to his involvement in Booth Allotment Scam. Besides this 5 groups of BJP activists including ladies reached upto the residence of Sh. Pawan Kumar Bansal.
Party President Sh. Sanjay Tandon alleged that the Congress Party hired goons from neighbouring states to create anarchy in the city. He said BJP gheraoed Pawan Kumar Bansal with a demand of his resignation due to his involvement in Booth Allotment Scam but the residents of city want to know the provocation due to which the Congressmen tried to gherao BJP office? .
He thanked the residents of Chandigarh for their participation, involvement and co-operation in the Bharatiya Janata Party’s fight against corruption. The massive arrests made it clear that the residents of city are much fed with the corrupt practice of Congress and its leaders and want to get rid of them and said that our fight against corruption will remain continue.
