Chandigarh 29.08.2013: BJP delegation under the leadership of state president Mr Sanjay Tandon visit the Kajauli area where the pipelines for water supply to Chandigarh lie. This was done to find out the real picture and to analyze how long will it take for the situation to normalize.
Leader of the BJP-SAD councillors Mr Arun Sood, Vice President Sh Hari shankar Mishra, Secy Smt Santosh Sharma, Councillors Sh Satinder Singh, Sh Saurabh Joshi, Sh Malkit Singh, Treasurer Sh Rajesh Gupta, Spokespersons Sh Gurpreet Singh Dhillon, Dr AP Sawariya, Sh Kailash Chand Jain, Distt No 4 president Sh Shakti Prakash Devshali, Media Cell Convener Sh Ravinder Pathania, Coconvener Sh Baljinder Gujral, Convener of Tenament Cell Sh Deepak Sharma, Sh Rajiv Pandey were presented in the delegation.
To the despair of the delegation they learned that two out of four pipelines which supplies water to the whole city have been heavily damaged and hence, the remaining two pipelines are taking the load to supply water to the whole city.
Mr Subhash Chawla, mayor of Chandigarh is far from reality when he claims that the situation will normalize by Friday. After proper inquiry and consultation with the workers on the field, the delegation was of the opinion that it will take another four to five days. Mr Tandon said that Mr Chawla should be honest to the people and not raise false hopes in the given circumstances.
The delegation also demanded that immediate steps must be taken by the administration so as to manage the menace of water supply shortage.
