A delegation of Bharatiya Janata Party Traders Cell led by BJP State President Sh. Sanjay Tandon alongwith Traders Cell President Sh. Ramkaran Gupta, Traders Cell National Executive Member Sh. Kailash Jain, B.K. Sood, Naresh Mahajan, Rupinder Singh, Vinod Aggarwal, Om Parkash Budhiraja and other prominent party activists visited Health Centre Sector 22, Chandigarh to listen the grievances of traders who are suffering a lot in preparing their licences to sell food items.
The delegation led by Sh. Sanjay Tandon met Dr. Satbir Singh, Incharge (Licence) and apprised him of the problems being faced by the traders who visit Health Centre to apply for licence.
Sh. Tandon demanded that there should be proper sitting arrangement for the traders and shopkeepers. The department should make arrangement of drinking water etc. within the premises for the traders and shopkeepers. He also demanded that all the requirements and terms and conditions for applying for issuance of licence should be indicated on a signboard outside the office so that the traders and shopkeepers can check their file before submission to the office.
Dr. Satbir Singh accepted all the demands and assured immediate action.
Keeping in view the problems being faced by the trader community, BJP Traders Cell decided that party activists will be deputed at the Health Centre, Sector 22 to help and guide the shopkeepers and traders who do not know the procedure of application.
Later in the evening, the delegation led by Sh. Sanjay Tandon met Sh. D.K. Tiwari, Health Secretary and officiating Home Secretary, Chandigarh Administration and demanded that the time for applying for licence should be extended.
Sh. Tandon said that the department should accept all the applications from the applicants and the date of submission of application should be treated as date of licence. He also demanded that the condition of NOC should be abolished as it is not possible in villages and colonies.
Sh. D.K. Tiwari assured the BJP delegation that he will look into the matter and do the needful. He also assured that a high level meeting of the officials of Administration and Corporation will be called to discuss the matter immediately.
