CHANDIGARH, July 22: Punjab Pradesh Congress Committee president Capt Amarinder Singh today said what Bhagwant Mann did in the parliament on Friday and for which he has tendered an unconditional apology, has only vindicated and validated the public perception about him and his party that they are not fit to hold the positions they have occupied.
“It is a classic case of a fool rushing in where angels fear to tread”, he remarked, while referring to his live streaming of the activities in the parliament on Friday.
“The comedy of errors, one after the another, enacted during the last couple of weeks by the AAP leaders has only proved the public fears right that they are not capable to hold the positions they have got and are further aspiring for”, Capt Amarinder said in a statement issued here today.
He pointed out, the Congress party has been consistently reminding people as how ill experienced and mentally ill equipped they are for the role they are aspiring for.
“They have proved it themselves, beyond any doubt or suspicion as what their priorities are and what these will be”, he observed, while remarking, running a state requires much more than a comic stage performance, which they tend to repeat every now and then.
Condemns use of brutal force against youth Congress workers
The PCC president also condemned the use of brutal force against the workers of the Punjab Youth Congress led by the PYC president Amarpreet Laly at Ferozepur today.
He said, the youth Congress workers were holding a peaceful protest for the restoration of the open air gym which had been set up with the contribution of the senior party leader Ms Ambika Soni’s MPLAD funds, but had been shut down by the local administration for petty political consideration.
Capt Amarinder demanded suspension of the police officials and strong action against some lumpen Akali and BJP workers who used brute force against the youth Congress workers.
