12 Nov : The three day Bal Diwas Celebrations marked by various Inter-Kendriya Vidyalaya Cluster Level Competitions in multifarious activities, concluded at Kendriya Vidyalaya No.1 Chandimandir amidst great fun and frolic today. As many as 96 students accompanied by 10 escorts from the primary sections of KV 1 Chandimandir, KV 2 Chandimandir, KV CRPF Pinjore and KV ITBP Bhanu participated enthusiastically in class-wise literary competitions in Spell Check, Hindi and English Poetry Recitation and Mental Maths on the inaugural day on Wednesday. As many as 77 prizes were given away to the participants.
Cluster level football matches were held on the second day. The participating teams comprised of students from classes IV and V. KV No.1 Chandimandir emerged triumphant by defeating rivals KV CRPF Pinjore, who stood at the second position. The third place was bagged by KV ITBP Bhanu.
The Principal, Mrs. Bhupinder Kaur greeted the students on the occasion of Children’s Day which falls on Sunday this year. She highlighted that 14 th November is celebrated as Children’s Day every year to commemorate the birth anniversary of Pt. Jawahar Lal Nehru because children were very dear to him.
A cultural programme presented on the occasion included group songs, group dances and speeches by the students. The gala spirit was marked by a sumptuous class-wise community lunch held on the occasion. A vibrant fancy dress competition with students dressed up in colourful costumes enhanced the celebrations. Following participants stood first in the class- wise competition:
Class I – Manju ; Class II – Pradeep Kaur ; Class III – Sikanderjeet ; Class IV- Deepa ; Class V – Manita ; Class VI – Pintu ; Class VII – Suman ; Class VIII – Tanya ; Class IX – Annu ; Class X – Arti.
In a cricket match held in the vidyalaya class XII Humanities defeated class XII Science by 5 runs.
