CHANDIGARH JANUARY 15: Punjab Chief Minister Mr. Parkash Singh Badal today ordered to hike the salary of Computer teachers from Rs.7000 to Rs.10000 per month with immediate effect.
A decision to this effect was taken by Mr. Badal during a meeting with the deputation of Punjab State Computer Teacher Union led by its President Gurvinder Singh. This decision would benefit 7172 computer teachers through out the state. Mr. Badal asked the members of the deputation to inspire their fellow teachers to teach the students with dedication and sincerity because they were the nation builders.
It may be recalled that computer education as a subject has been introduced from class 6th to 12th in 4965 government schools. The state education department has decided to conduct the examination of computer subject of class 8th, 10th and 12th by the Punjab School Education Board from the academic session 2009-10.
