Chandigarh October 8: Philosopher, author, bureaucrat and Nirankari ideologue, Shri Naranjan Singh, 80, passed away here today.
Survived by wife, a member of Sant Nirankari Mandal’s Central Planning and Advisory Board, Mrs. Joginder Kaur, and three married sons, the former senior bureaucrat had authored internationally mass-sold treatises like ‘Matter and Non-Matter’, “Mainstream of Spirituality’ and ‘Faith in the Age of Science’
Born on 3rdOctober 1941, in Harnampur, District Ludhiana, (Punjab), Shri Naranjan Singh did his M.A. in English from Govt. College Ludhiana and qualified as IAS, Punjab Cadre in 1966. He retired from Punjab Government from a Commissioner rank in 2001.
Later, he was appointed Chairman of the Punjab State Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes Commission.
Initiated in Nirankari Mission in 1964, Shri Narajan Singh highlighted the modern-scientific orientation of God-realization throughout his role as a follower
Shri Naranjan Singh was acclaimed as an exemplary role-model in the Mission. A senior preacher described him as a trustworthy devotee to be remembered by generations to come.
On Saturday, Shri Naranjan Singh’s funeral will be performed at Chandigarh’s Sector 25 Crematorium at 12:30pm. His mortal remains will be kept at Sant Nirankari Satsang Bhawan, Sector 15 D on this day for Antim Darshan at 10:30 am.
