CHANDIGARH, NOV 30 : Ashok Malhotra XI defeated Chetan Sharma XI by 34 runs in the Week-End Match organised by Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy at the St Stephen’s School ground in Sector 45 here.
Ashok Malhotra XI batted first and scored 214 all out in 34.3 overs. Lovish Bansal (62) and Rahul Chabbra (32) propped up Malhotra XI innings as they were concerned in an 81-run partnership for the second wicket. Manjot Singh (34), Lovejit Singh (25) and Rishu (17) also made significant contribution with the bat.
For Chetan Sharma XI, Amrit Singh (3 for 58) and Jagpreet Singh (2 for 31) were the main wicket-takers.
In reply, Aggarwal brothers — Karan and Daksh –gave Chetan Sharma XI a good start as they were associated in a 101-run stand for the opening wicket. Karan hit 43 which was laced with eight fours. Daksh slammed eight fours and one six in his 55.
However, Aggarwal Brothers efforts went in vain as Chetan Sharma XI could score only 181 for 7 in stipulated 35 overs. Jagpreet Singh 917) and Prakshit Rana (16) were their other main scorers.
Ashok Malhotra XI medium pacer Shivam Sharma got three wickets for 27 runs. Manjit Singh and Lovejit bagged two wickets each for 18 and 30 runs, respectively.
