The India Post, Chandigarh, 18th October, 2008 : Sohanjana Eco-Club of Govt. Model Sr. Sec. School 46-D, Chandigarh organized Anti crackers rally on 18-10-2008. Eco-Club members with placards in their hands giving the message that we should not burst crackers for the preservation and protection of our environment.
Earlier Dr. S.K. Sharma, President, Environment Society of India, Chandigarh, flagged off the rally for the spread of awareness among the common people of sector 46 D, Chandigarh. He said that we should save our money for the welfare of students, which are being used for crackers.
School Principal Mrs. Sudesh Raghav said that bursting of crackers are dangerous for all human beings and other living organism. She said that being the agents of change, students can play important role for creating pollution free environment.
Eco-Club in-charge Mr.Om Parkash said that bursting of crackers are polluting gaseous constituents of atmosphere. Such type of activities is also responsible for water and earth pollution. By stopping bursting of crackers, we not only protect and conserve our environment but also save our tiny tots from different type of injuries.
School Eco- Club members Mrs. Baljinder Kaur, Mrs. Tanu Arora,Mrs. Shalini Vashisht and 100 students have expressed their views with the help of placards and banners in their hands on the above subject & to stop crackers for preservation of environment for the bright future of Flora and Fanna.
