By Jagpreet Sandhu,Chandigarh, November 26 : The second day of Chandigarh Carnival , the village based on jadunagri theme became a perfect destination for tricity residents & youngsters. They visited to various activity stalls displaying varied art, foodstalls, amusement park and the Film city based on Kashmir valley theme. It was a total atmosphere of Fun n frolic with wonderful weather as backdrop.
Chandigarh Sahitya Akademi held a Literary Quiz at the Carnival village in the morning. Six teams participated for the cash prizes that were bagged by Tanveer , Prateek, Vijay, Ishan, Nishtha and Rohit. On the concluding day of the Carnival, the CSA will hold Funny Poem / Mini Poem and slogan competitions, themes will be announced on the spot to spring a surprise on the contestants.
The Government Museum and Art Gallery has put up an Artists Corner in the Carnival Village. Nine artists have been invited for the three days show to give a live art demonstration. These artists are working in Acrylic on Paper.
At another corner, CITCO DA VEHRA a typical Punjabi look place savour traditional and ethnic food has been designed with outer mud walls having free hand art work, decorated with colourful buntings. The mouth watering ethnic dishes like Makki-ki-Roti – Sarson Ka Saag, Chaatti-Di- Lassi and Gur Da Halwa are the main attraction of the Vehra.
A mini stage was the cynosure of the Carnival village. The youngsters rocked the mini stage on Punjabi and Hindi hits. The performances made by the participants on the spot won rounds of applause by the onlookers. The evening was unveiled with live performances by Amit Kumar and Sumit Kumar ,son of legendary Kishore Kumar. The final day will end in the evening with thunderous Punjabi performance by Harbhajan Mann at Leisure Valley, Chandigarh.
