Chandigarh, September 30 : The members of the All India Mother-In-Law Protection Forum and Save Indian Family Foundation (SIFF) has requested the IG prison Hardeep Singh Doon to allow them to meet the Burail jail inmates booked under dowry act and dowry deaths.
The President of the local chapter along with the other members met the IG Prison Mr.Doon, here morning at the police headquarters, Sector 9, and have requested him to allow them to meet the prisoners locked in Burail Jail.
According to Manjit Puri, the president of the Chandigarh chapter, “We met the IG prison and have requested him to allow us to meet the jail inmates booked under dowry act and dowry deaths. The request has been forwarded to AIG. Following this, we would also meet the other jail in charge of various cities in Punjab and Haryana and will request them to allow the AIMPF and SIFF members to meet the prisoners locked there”.
“We are backing AIMPF for this social cause. We would help and would fight on a collective front with AIMPF”, said Mandeep Puri, coordinator Save Indian Family Foundation (SIFF), Chandigarh Chapter.
When contacted, HS Doon confirmed that a request has been received and the same has been forwarded to the AIG Prisons. AIG has been asked to allow these members to meet the prisoners, who as per the schedule will give a suitable date.
