Chandigarh , 3 Sep : Chanakya Institute of Management Gharuan near Chandigarh started its new academic session with “VAN MAHOTSAV”. S. Gurbhaj Singh IFS Chief Conservative of Forests Punjab was the Chief Guest at this occasion and he planted a sapling. While addressing the students he said that according to the Puranas- planting one tree is equal to be blessed with ten sons. A man consumes the bulk of two trees during his life time. Therefore in order to pay back the debt each one of us must plant two trees and also preserve and protect them like our own kith & kin. Sh JB Goyal the Chairman of the institute while presiding over the function said that preservation of environment is the single most important global need of the day.
The rapid growth of industrialization and urbanization have created severe ecological imbalance. He exhorted students to help in improving environment to make life better on Earth. The students presented colorful dance and song items. Ms Gitika the CEO of CIM presented a vote of thanks.
