Chandigarh : Aam Aadmi Party Chandigarh unit in a unique show of solidarity and patriotic fervour celebrated Republic Day by conducting a Jan Sabha at Rally Ground Sector 25 Chandigarh. The Chief Guest of the Function was Naveen Jai Hind, National Executive Member of Aam Aadmi Party and Prof Baljeet, State Executive, Haryana Unit of the Party.
The objective of the Jan Sabha was to bring the issues facing ‘common man’ to the fore front. This was done by getting together people from various areas of City. The people also came up with their issues like increased fares of electricity, slum rehabilitation of people living in colonies, Lal Dora Issues affecting villages, safety of women etc. Various speakers highlighted these issues in their address to the gathering.
A large number of people representing Akhil Bhartiya Safai Mazdoor Sangh represented by their leader Mr Shamsher Lotia Joined Aam Aadmi Party Chandigarh. The social group was hopeful that their long standing demands would be heard by the new clean political system being evolved under the leadership of Arvind Kejriwal. Another prominent social group Bhartiya Dalit Samaj Sewa Dal under the leadership of Mr Kalyanji also joined the party. The newly joined members were welcomed by Mr Naveen ‘JAIHIND’.
The party followers also resolved to follow the principles of ‘SWARAJ and as a step in that Direction a mission to develop an ‘OPEN MANIFESTO’ by the people of Chandigarh was mooted by one of the speakers. Mr Naveen JAIHIND also stressed that AAP will strive to bring power back to people by emphasizing the principles of democratic representation enshrined in Constitution. He stated that AAP shuns the kind of politics where people elect an MP who behaves like a raja, and then nobody pays heed to them for five years. He further stated that AAP will always follow the principle of election rather than selection, be it at any level. He stated that people across the country have given us so much love and appreciation and we only want to work for them.”
On this occasion, all AAP Volunteers stood together as one and justified their dedication and unity and reiterated their commitment to the idea of Swaraj.
