Chandigarh, March 13, 2011:- Government College of Art, Chandigarh, is among the premier educational institutes for the study of art and design in the country and it has international reputation for excellence in the field of visual and plastic arts. Art exhibition is an annual feature of the Institution and provide the platform to the students to reflect their skill and creativity. The Exhibition is organised after the completion of its academic session and the best works executed during that period by the students of BFA are showcased in the Art gallery and studios of InstitutionThe 46th Annual art exhibition is to be inaugurated by Sh Pradip Mehra, Adviser to the Administration on 14th March 2010 at 3.30 p.m. Home Secretary Sh Ram Niwas and the Education Secretary Sh V K Singh and are also expected to grace the occasion. In the Exhibition about 300 students are participating from the Department of Applied Art, Painting, Graphics and Sculpture and around 1200 works comprising Poster Designs, Press Layout, Composition Painting, Graphics Prints, Portrait study, Sculptures and Installation are displayed. Principal, D S Kapoor patted the students for their hard works and expressed his best wishes for this grand event with the hope that people and art lovers of the Tricity will come to see their works to encourage them and also improve the status of artist in the society. The Exhibition will remain on view till 20th. March daily from 10.00 a.m. to 6.p.m.
