Barinder Saluja, Chandigarh/Mohali,April 6 : Three Hundred thirty degrees students of MBA, MCA, and BBA & BCA received degrees at the 9th Annual Convocation of Gian Jyoti Institute of Management & Technology, Phase-2, Mohali on 6th April, 2011. The function started with “Saraswati Vandana” by students of institute, which was followed by lighting of lamp by the eminent guests and offered prayers to Devi Saraswati. Dr. A.P. Singh Dean (Student Affairs), PTU, Jalandhar, Chief Guest on the occasion delivered the Convocation address presented degrees to MBA, MCA, BBA and BCA, who passed out in the year 2010.Delivering the convocation address, Dr. A.P. Singh expressed his happiness that the GJ- IMT had been ranked among the best Management Institute in India. He congratulated Mr. J.S. Bedi, Chairman of the institute for providing strong intellectual base. Dr. A.P. Singh also congratulated the management for successfully running such as esteemed institution as being best B-school in north regions. He blessed the students for getting degrees wherein they can dream of having successful careers ahead.
He said that the students should shoulder the responsibility of carrying the Nation forward by measuring up to the increased competition. For this Dr. A.P. Singh said that it was important for one to have up to-date and multidisciplinary education. He appreciated that GJ-IMT was doing well to provide such education.
Dr. A.P. Singh also emphasized the importance of literacy and educational institutions in particular to bring about desirable changes in the society. He asked the students to spread the knowledge they had acquired from their Alma Matter and be a part of this positive change.
Mr. J.S.Bedi,Chairman of Gian Jyoti Group Of Institutes, welcomed the chief Guest and other dignitaries and congratulated the students having their degrees .Addressing the students on the occasion, Mr. J.S.Bedi advised them to work hard for achieving their set goals in life. “Education is a continual process that keeps on enriching the lives of everyone around. In the real sense of the term, for an educated person, classroom interaction is must, “. He further added on this occasion.
Mr. J.S. Bedi, Chairman, GJ-IMT presented the memento to the Chief Guest on this occasion.
The ceremony ended with the vote of thanks delivered by the Dr. Vimal K. Aggerwal ,Director, GJIMT followed by national anthem sung by the college choir.
