Chandigarh: 16 April 2016 : Competent Foundation organized its 15th Blood Donation Camp, today, at DAV Sr. Secondary School (Lahore), Sector 8C, Chandigarh, under the aegis of Competent Group which is handling Call Centre, Stock Brokerage, CommodityB rokerage, Insurance Brokerage, Audits and Financial Consultancies etc. As many as more than 300 units of blood and 126 eyes were collected today. Sanjay Tandon, his wife Priya Tandon and his sons Shiven, Saransh and Satyam Tandon also donated the blood.
His Excellency the Governor of Chhattisgarh, Sh. Balramji Dass Tandon, presided over as Chief Guest for the inauguration of this camp and Sh. AnuragAggarwal, IAS, Home Secretary, Chandigarh & Sh. Arun Sood, Mayor, Municipal Corporation, Chandigarh, participated as Guest of Honour for theinauguration ceremony, who were welcomed by Sh. Sanjay Tandon, Chairman of Competent Group, Chandigarh. Sh. R.K.Talwar, Secretary, DAV College Management Committee, New Delhi &Dr.Vibha Ray, Principal, DAV Sr. Secondary School(Lahore), Chandigarh were also present during the function. Prominent dignitaries of Chandigarh and Mohali Director PGI YogeshChawla, Medical supretendent A K Gupta, Maj Gen Kaundal, Kirpal Singh, BJP Chandigarh State General Secretary Chander Shekhar and Prem Kaushik, Vice President B K Sood, District Presidents Shakti Prakash Devshali, Ravi Kant Sharma, Devi Singh, Ramesh Nikku, Councillor Sat Prakash , Raj Bala Malik, BJYM President AmitRana, Saurabh Goyal, Mohinder Nirala, Jagtar Singh Jagga were also attended this function and encouraged the blood donors.
Understanding the Corporate Social Responsibility, COMPETENT GROUP had formed a Charitable Society by the name of COMPETENT FOUNDATION, in October 2006. This foundation is known for undertaking various projects to help the under privileged in the society by organizing weekly langars, medical camps, free education, circulating daily good thoughts & weekly stories etc.
The Competent Group whole heartedly acknowledged and thanks DAV Sr. Secondary School (Lahore) authorities, staff and other associates for their cooperation, support and providing space to make this social event successful. Each donor was presented with a Certificate from PGI. Previously, the Foundation had organized Fourteen Blood Donation Camps in which morethan4000units of blood were collected and donated to PGI & GMCH, Chandigarh.
Mr. Sanjay Tandon, Chairman of Competent Group, thanked all the donors fortheir participation and blessings. He said if the people start donating blood voluntarily, there will be no shortage of blood in the Country and thousands of lives could be saved.
