CHANDIGARH, JAN 22 :As many as 30 schools have confirmed their participation in the Tata Tea Jaago Re Soccer Stars ’09, ‘Go to Arsenal’ Programme, at the Sector 17 Football Stadium here on January 24 and 25. The programme is an exercise to spot soccer talent throughout the country.
Two finalists from Chandigarh will compete with 14 finalists from other from other parts of the country in the National finals. According to former international player and head scout of the programme Jamshed Nassiri, 30 probables would be selected for month-long coaching camp to be held in Kolkata. They will be pruned down to 16 who will compete in the Arsenal International Soccer Festival to be conducted in United Kingdom.
In the Chandigarh edition of the Tata Tea Jaago Re Soccer Stars ‘Go to Arsenal’ Programme, young soccer enthusiasts from 30 schools will assemble at the Sector 17 Football Stadium at 8.30 a.m on January 24.
