CHANDIGARH, NOV 3 :As many as 15 teams have staked their claims for top honours in the 5th Molly Carver Cricket Cup which begins tomorrow with a match between St Stephen’s School, Sector 45 and Saupin’s School, Sector 32 at St Stephen’s School ground in Sector 45 here. The match will begin at 9 a.m.
Jointly organised by Desh Prem Azad Cricket Academy and St Stephen’s School, matches will be played at the St Stephen’s Schools grounds in Chandigarh and Togan. The final will be conducted on November 13 at Togan.
DPAC Academy chairman Dronacharya DP Azad said that the matches would be of 30 overs each side and would be played on knockout basis. St Kabir School of Sector 26 have been given a first-round bye.
The teams have been divided into two pools. Hosts and holders St Stephen’s School-45, Saupin’s School-32, Little Flower School, Panchkula, Shishu Niketan-22, Delhi Public School Pinjore and St Kabir School-26 have been placed in group A.
DAV Model-15, St Stephen’s School Togan, St Anne’s School-32, Government Model Senior Secondary School-32, Satluj Public School Panchkula, APJ School Kharar, Vivek High School-38 and Guru Nanak Public School-36 have been clubbed in group B.
Charlet Carver, elder brother of St Stephen’s School Harold Carver, will inaugurate the tournament at 9 a.m.
