Chandigarh : On the occasion of International National Girl Child Day, Dr. GC Mishra Memorial Educational & Charitable Trust and Manav Mangal Smart School, Mohali organized “Beti Samman Samaroh” function to felicitate the achievements of daughters. Governor of Chhattisgarh Shri Balramji Dass Tandon and General (Retd.) VP Malik, Former Chief of Army Staff honoured 12 extraordinary girls from various fields. On this occasion Mr. Sanjay Sardana, Director, Manav Mangal Group of Schools, Mr. Mayank Mishra, Managing Trustee, Dr. GC Mishra Memorial Educational & Charitable Trust and Mr. Ishwar Singh, Senior Regional Manager, Central Bank of India were also present. On this Occasion the new website of the trust was also launched. The students of Manav Mangal Smart School presented cultural program which gave the message if the girls are given chance they can excel in any field.Governor of Chhattisgarh Balram ji Dass Tandon lauded the efforts of the trust in organizing this event and said that the daughters who are honoured here will be source of inspiration for other daughters of the country.
The 12 girls who were honoured includes Akriti Sharma who performed Well in class 12th CBSE Examination this year in spite of being bed ridden for more than 4 months due to serious injuries in road accident. Another girl who was honoured was Jaspreet Kaur, who is a daughter of a driver and in spite of financial hardships she topped in Mohali in PSEB class 12th Examination this year. Kiran Aswal and Mansi Mishra were also honoured for performing well in class 12th examination despite odd circumstances. Two girls students of Institute of Blind, Sector-26, Chandigarh Divya and Gaganjot Kaur were also honoured who have excelled in sports and academics. Besides these girls other girls who were honoured included Apoorwa, Jahangeet Singh, Pinky, Sanskriti Agarwal, Priyanka and Japneet Kaur.

Governor of Chhattisgarh Shri Balramji Dass Tandon and General (Retd.) and General (Retd.)VP Malik, Former Chief of Army Staff today released the Hindi book ‘Safalta ki Unchi Udaan-Prerak Kathayen’ written by Senior Journalist Mr. Mayank Mishra. This is the fourth book written by Mayank. The book mentions the success stories of some civil servants from all over India who achieved their aim despite odd circumstances. Besides the book also mentions the success stories of Mr. Ashwani Garg, Chairman, Swami Vivekanand Group of Institutes, Dr. SPS Grewal, MD, Grewal Eye Institute, Mr. Om Prakash Aggarwal, Chairman E Max Group of Institutes, Ambala, Mr. PK Khurana, MD, Quick Relations Pvt. Ltd and Mr. Rajesh Gupta, Chairman, Gurukul World School, Mohali. ”The book will be a source of inspiration for young students and will motivate them to rise in whatever they aspire to do in life,” said Mishra.
