Manoj Godara, Chandigarh, September 29: Democratic Youth Federation of India (DYFI) and Guru Gobind Singh Sports Club (GGSSC), Dadu Majra and Yuva Democratic Club (YDC), Manimajra, celebrated the 103rd Birth Anniversary of Shahid Bhagat Singh in their respective villages. On this occasion patriotic song and poems were sung by the volunteers. In Dadu Majra Baba Piara Singh, Rakesh Kumar, Amarjit Singh, Com. Kuldip Singh, Gurbachan Singh, Gurdial Singh Kala threw light on the life of Sahid Bhagat Singh and his dream of social equality so that the youth of today follow his teachings. On this occasion candles were lighted in front of the photograph of the Shahid and cake was cut by Baba Piara Singh. Sweets, cake and snacks were served to the volunteers and gathering present on this occasion after a morning cleanliness drive at the cremation ground of the village by the members of the club.
Whilst at YDC Manimajra, Ishan Tayal, President, YDC throwing light on of the life of Sahid Bhagat Singh said that the ambition of Sardar Bhagat Singh was to get the mother nation free from slavery. No doubt the country is free today but a lot is still to be done in the fields of economic independence and to attain communal harmony, which is the real aspect of the independence.
Tayal congratulated Naresh Panna and his team for winning the recent elections of Manimanjra Beopar Mandal. In the same breath he forwarded his concern of allocating new house numbers ward wise in case of old ones to the Mayor, Municipal Corpoporation,Chandigarh, Anu Chatrath. He emphasized that though Chandigarh is a planned city but its villages still need more planning as the house no are not in order which makes it difficult to locate any address as such and so the residents face a lot of hardships.
