Chandigarh, November 23: Today, in a bid to promote menstrual hygiene among adolescent girls, especially from marginalized families of Mauli Jagran Colony, Chandigarh Senior Citizens Association, SOSVA (N) & Yuvsatta adopted 100 girls of the area and in days to come will be providing them not only desired for sanitary napkins, but also regular medical check-ups, medicines, vocational training and literacy so that they can lead a healthy and happy life.
Giving the aforesaid information Daljit Singh Grewal, President of Chandigarh Senior Citizen’s Association explained that for poor families even to arrange for simple sanitary napkins is a big issue and here their association members are coming forward to help the cause. BB Mahajan, President, SOSVA (N) added that most of girls here are anemic so they’ll be regularly monitoring their health status and Brig. Keshav Chandra former President of Chandigarh Senior Citizen’s Association added that they’ll also see that the targeted girls gains some vocational training to get some gainful employment.
