Bihar : Relatives and friends of Kumar Yashkar and his wife Archana Sharma gathered together at Kargil Chowk, Patna and demanded high level probe into the mysterious death of Yashkar and his wife. Kumar Yashkar was originally from Bakarganj, Patna and was high official in Defense Ministry. He competed UPSC in 1996 and had brilliant academic career. His cousin and childhood friend, noted physician Dr Diwakar Tejaswi refuted Delhi Police theory that Kumar Yashkar and his wife were under financial strain that lead to murder of his wife and self burning to suicidal death of Yashkar.
Dr Tejaswi claimed that both had very cordial relation and hinted that some official pressure might be the reason behind the duo murder. He told Dr Tejaswi when he visited Patna in last February that he was looking into sensitive Right to information matters of Defense ministry. Dr Mrs. Kiran Sharan expressed her deep concern and told how it is possible that a person can burn himself without any inflammable material as no kerosene oil, petrol, match box, lighter etc were found at the site of partially burnt body of Kumar Yashkar. More so Yashkar’s tongue was protruded out indicating throttling before burning. Noted Surgeon Dr Narendra Prasad said that the circumstantial evidence suggests high profile murder and burning oneself to death is very uncommon method of suicide among literates.
He could have chosen easier methods like could have hanged himself or could have consumed poison if he had to kill himself. Mr. Ajay Kumar, close to Kumar Yashkar informed that he got calls from Yashkar day before the incident that suggested he was sensing some danger. But police did not ask him anything. Why Police didn’t trace the calls that were made by Yashkar in last 10 days before closing the case as murder and then suicide is also very suspicious. None of the defense officials went to the cremation ground or visited the family members also suggests that there is some kind of fear psychosis among them. Those who were present and demanded high level probe into the matter included Dr K K Sharan, Prof Nalini Ranjan Kumar, Sri Anand Dwivedi, Sri Sudhir Sharma, Sri Sujay Saurabh, Dr S P Ambastha, Sri Baidehi Sharan, Mrs. Vinita Mishra, Sri Pawan Kumar Saw, Neeraj Vishwakarma, and others.
