9 Mar : Patna based voluntary organization Public Awareness for Healthful Approach for Living (PAHAL) today organized “Protsahan Programme” for the widows living with AIDS and contributing positively to the society by creating awareness about AIDS and supporting other fellow women’s and children suffering from this disease. Medical Director PAHAL, Dr Diwakar Tejaswi informed on the occasion that officially around 40,000 persons in Bihar are indentified with the virus and out of them, 40% are women. Widows living with HIV face most adverse situation in family and society at large. Dr (Mrs) Kiran Sharan, President PAHAL honoured Rizwana Khatoon, Leela Devi, Kanchan Devi, Reeta Kumari and Vimla Devi all living with HIV/AIDS, for their dedicated work against the spread of the disease and for counseling community members. President of Bihar Network of People Living with HIV/AIDS, BNP+, Mr Gyan Ranjan was also present on the occasion.
