3 Nov : Bihar Intellectual Forum conducted a meeting at Hotel Patliputra Ashok to provide different intellectual viewpoints on how to tackle the spread of hatred against North Indians by Raj Thackrey and his goons.Noted Physician and Convener of the forum, Dr Diwakar Tejaswi welcomed the guests and started the discussion. He opined that time is over for drawing room discussion over a cup of tea and responsible citizens and intellectuals have to come forward to help in diffusing the crisis initiated by few anti socials headed by Raj Thackrey.
Those who participated in the meet included Dr Ramashray Yadav, Ex Chairman, Bihar Public Service Commission and Former VC, Bhagalpur University, Internationally renowned Sociologist Professor Sachindra Narayan, Ex Head ENT Dept, NMCH Dr K K Sharan, Eminent Surgeon Dr Akhauri Satyadeo Prasad, President Rotary Patliputra, Dr Shankarnath, Senior Manager, PNB Mr. Anand Dwivedi, Constitutional Lawyer Mr. Tuhin Shankar, Criminal Lawyer Mr. Abhishek Priyadarshi, Ex VC Birsa Agriculture University Dr H R Mishra, President Sanskar Bharti Dr Kiran Sharan, Media Expert Vivek Vishal, Infertility Specialist Dr Himanshu Roy, Mr. L P Singh, Retd IAS, Mr. Y P Verma Retd IAS, Mr. Ranjan Kumar, Social Worker and Programme Executive NIDAN, Mr. S K Singh, Engg (IIT Delhi), Mr. Binodanand Mishra Lawyer and Human Right Activist and Mr. Sanjay Kumar Srivastava from Gramin Vikas Samiti.
Every one expressed their views and at the end of the meeting Dr Tejaswi compiled the observations:
Short term action:
1. No one should hurt any Marathi living in Bihar. It will have negative repercussion. Maratha culture is great and None of Intellectual Marathi favours Raj Thakrey’s action.
2. Intellectuals from Bihar will be in communication with their Marathi friends by phone / email/ letters and express their apathy to them and request their help in diffusing the crisis.
3. Growing hatred between States is mutually and nationally harmful. Our efforts will be to reduce the growing hatred.
4. If action is not taken against Raj Thackeray then representation and delegation will be sent to various Govt Machinery, Supreme Court, Election Commission with request to expedite the action.
Long Term:
1. Developmental activities in Bihar have to be accelerated. Forum will try to help govt. on this issue.
2. Good people should be encouraged to come forward in active politics.
3. Voters should be advocated to exercise their voting rights.
Speakers applauded the lead taken by Dr Diwakar Tejaswi to bring intellectuals on one platform despite his very busy schedule. It was regarded as a stepping stone towards better Bihar.
