30 Jan : Assuring that there will be no cut in the 2009-10 annual plan size for the state despite economic recession, Karnataka Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on Friday said he would present the budget during the third week of February.
“Preparation to formulate the 2009-10 budget and discussions are being held with finance department officials,” he told the press in Bangalore.After discussing with the Assembly Speaker Jagadish Shettar, a date would be fixed for budget presentation, he added.
The state had a plan size of about Rs 25,953 crore in 2008-09.On his reaction to the party MLA from KGF, Y Sampangi being trapped by Lokayukta while allegedly accepting bribe, he said “I am pained by the development. Law will take its own course.”
Sampangi has already been suspended from the party. When asked whether he would be expelled from the party, Yeddyurappa said, “wait and see”.
