PASIGHAT, Feb-12: The Socio-Economic Caste Census (SECC), 2011 has been conducting simultaneously for rural and urban areas in the district. The IPR Pasighat is providing all the necessary help and technical supports in uploading of data on central server by setting up Charge Center and the DC Talem Tapok who is also Principal SECC Officer is personally supervising the entire process to ensure correct and error-free data compilation.
In his message, Tapok stated that SECC is major tasks which include self-declaration of questionnaires, belonging to all religions, castes and tribes etc so as to ascertain the exact status of the living conditions of the people and appealed the citizens to extend full cooperation to the enumerators providing accurate information. A team of SECC enumerators (Urban) today collected data from ‘Siang House’ and entered the responses directly in the electronic Hand Held Device, especially designed and developed for the purpose.
Meanwhile a central monitoring team comprising Jt. Director (RD Itanagar) Tado Ado, Dr. Neha Wadhavan (Tribal Area Specialist) MORD, GoI, New Delhi and Deputy Director (Census), Shillong B Sohtun along with the District Nodal Officer Taper Pada, PD (DRDA) visited the Charge Center and few places during enumeration recently on last week. Later, they were informed by the DC in a consultative meeting held in his office chamber that large numbers of trained and experienced government personnel have been pressed into service to take up the largest administrative exercise. The visiting team expressed satisfaction over the SECC activities of the district.
